  1. How many students are in eachcourse?
The number of students per course depends on the type of course. Group courses vary from a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 8 students. However, ProLingua also offers individual language courses, which are tailored to specific student requirements.

  2. When do the courses begin?
Our courses usually begin each Monday. However, for specific dates please contact us directly.

  3. Is it possible to carry out evening courses? Until what time?
Yes. Centro ProLingua offers evening courses, from Mondays to Fridays, until 9:00 p.m

  4. Do you offer courses for people who work in different time shifts?
If a person has problems in attending a group course on a regular basis, then the best solution would be an individual course. This allows the student to come when his/she is available.

  5. Do you offer courses on Saturdays and Sundays?
Yes. However, these are usually individual courses.

  6. May I choose the time schedule for my lessons?
Yes, if you sign up for an individual course. If you decide to do a group course we will do everything we can to schedule the course at the time you've requested. If this is not possible, you'll have to wait until a group course in the time slot you've asked for becomes available.

  7. What textbooks are used in the courses?
The textbooks used during the course are chosen by our Didactic Director based on the level and needs of the students. All the books we use are recognized as some of the best books on the market for teaching Italian to foreigners.

  8. How long will it take me to learn a new language?
This depends on several factors. If your mother-tongue is Spanish for example, you'll find Italian easier and thus learn faster. Also, if you already speak at least another language you are already predisposed to learning languages and this will help. People who are mono-lingual are generally the people who have the most difficulties. However, the most important ingredient is personal motivation in learning anything.

  9. It's not easy for me to learn new languages. Does this mean it will take me longer than normal to carry out a course, and therefore have to pay additionally?
Not necessarily. The communicative method is normally extremely successful, even with people who claim not to be able to learn a new language. Releasing negative mental patterns about your ability will certainly help you in learning a new language.

  10. How long will it take me to see results in my using and speaking of the new language?
Again, based on what your mother-tongue is, how many languages you speak and how motivated you are will determine how quickly you learn a new language. Most people see results in about three months.

  11. How many course levels are there?
There are 6 different course levels: beginners, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, medium-advanced, and advanced. We also offer special maintenance courses, for students who are completely fluent but need to practice in order to maintain the fluency they have acquired.

  12. How can I know which level I have?
Prolingua provides a free on-line language test, which you can answer and return to us to be corrected. We will send the corrected test back to you in 24 hours. If you prefer to pay us a visit, our didactic expert will assess your level and suggest the right course for you at no charge.

  13. How can I find the best course or didactic solution for my needs and my particular situation?
Before starting a course at Centro ProLingua you will undergo a written entrance exam and an oral interview, which will allow us to assess your level. A personalized program is drawn-up according to your specific needs - study purposes, course duration, time availability, etc. It is important to add that our didactic expert and the Student Assistance staff at ProLingua are always available to answer our students' questions and provide support all during the course.

  14. Will you give me a diploma or certificate when I finish the course?
At the end of the course, after having ensured that specific objectives have been met, students receive a certificate of attendance and an achievement diploma containing didactic remarks and advice helpful for the program studied, as well as for further studies.

  15. Is it possible to study several languages at the same time?
Yes. Though we only advise this in very particular cases. Usually, it wiser only to study one language at a time.

  16. Do you offer distance teaching language services?
This is a service we are presently working on and it will be available shortly.

  17. Do you offer individual language lessons?
Yes. We offer individual language lessons tailored for our students' specific needs.

  18. Do you offer courses for the preparation of official language exams, such as the CILS and IT for Italian, or the TOEFL and TOEIC for English?
Yes. Centro ProLingua regularly offers preparation courses for the CILS e IT exams. Upon special request we can also organize individual courses for students who need to prepare for the TOEFL and TOEIC exams.

  19. If I register for a course and can't continue due to health reasons or other serious motives, will I be reimbursed?
Our insurance company has created a special policy for students who register at Centro ProLingua. If a student registers and pays for a course and cannot continue studying due to an accident or other health reasons, the insurance company will either reimburse the student or finance a new course. Any specific questions regarding the insurance policy should be directed to the Student Assistance department at info@linguapro.com.

  20. If I can't continue my course, can a friend or family member continue in my place?
Enrollment to one of our courses is in the name of particular person and therefore cannot be passed on to another person.

  21. If I miss a lesson, do I have the right to recover it?
Unlike group lessons, individual lessons can be recovered if the student advises the secretariat 24 hours before the start of the lesson. Nevertheless, if a student misses a group lesson the teacher will provide him/her the didactic material for the lesson missed and the indications to work autonomously in the Multimedia Study Center in order for the student to catch up with the rest of the group.
However, if the student misses a series of lessons and stays back with regard to the group level, both the teacher and the didactic expert may ask the student to attend to individual lessons in order to catch up with the rest of the group. In this case the student has a special 20% discount over individual lessons.

  22. If I can't continue my course for any reason, will I be reimbursed?
If a student decides to withdraw from a course, cancellation of the course must be communicated directly to Prolingua either by fax or letter and in the case of foreign students by telegram. If the course is cancelled with at least four-weeks notice, the entire payment will be reimbursed to the student, except the enrollment fee, which will remain valid for a 12-month period. If the cancellation is made two weeks before the beginning of the course, only 50% of the total payment will be reimbursed. After the beginning of the course no reimbursement will be made. Nevertheless, valid, documented reasons for withdrawing from our courses must be directly sent to our director.

  23. Do I loose the lessons that coincide with national holidays?
No. Lessons that fall on national holidays are recovered on both a date and time that suit the students.

  24. If I'm not computer-wise, can I still use the Multimedia Study Center (MSC)?
Yes. The MSC is monitored by a qualified tutor, which supervises the students and provides them all the necessary help. Likewise, the tutor is available by appointment to assist students in any problem areas.
